I saw this quote that caught my eye and I really had to let you guys know about it.

"There are people who, instead of listening to what is being said to them, are already listening to what they are going to say themselves"

This is deep if you think about it. Take an argument between your significant other for instance. Now I find myself doing this ALL THE TIME. I let the person talk and I hear one thing they say and I disagree with it I instantly zone out and formulate in my head what my comeback will be. I can speak for the men when I say we are all probably guilty of this.

I definitely did not want this site to be about relationships (or at least I did not want any of my posts to be about relationships) But I guess I am going to let you guys know stop and listen to your woman, or woman's, lol which ever one y'all got. Also women listen to the men and things will get solved a lot more easily.

This also does not apply to relationships. Also listen to your Best friends, your boss, your older bruhs, you sisters, your younger bruhs, your sorority sisters older and younger, your parents, your coach, whoever! You can and will learn a lot from the people around you, do not  hinder yourself from learning by not listening.

NEW YORK (CBS/AP) Grammy Award-winning rapper Lil Wayne has been freed from jail after serving eight months in a New York City gun case.

The city's Department of Correction website said Thursday Dwayne Carter Jr. had been released from the Rikers Island jail complex.
This contradicts an earlier report from MTV News that Wayne's release was going to be delayed a day, because his time in jail had been "miscalculated."
The platinum-selling, billboard topping MC pleaded guilty in 2009 to possessing a loaded gun on his tour bus in Manhattan. He started serving a one-year sentence in March.
He was expected to get out early because of time off for good behavior, despite the electronic contraband that landed him in solitary confinement for the last month of his term: a charger and headphones for a digital music player were found in his cell, jail officials said. While he was in solitary confinement, his latest album "I Am Not a Human Being" was released. It hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart last month.
In an interview aired Wednesday with MTV, Young Money records president Mack Maine said a party was being planned for this Sunday in Miami to help the rapper readjust to normal life on the outside.
"It should be a lot of beautiful women, just...beautiful scenery. Just treat him like a king, like the royalty that he is and make him feel like we really missed him and welcome him back to the family," Maine told MTV.
The record label boss, who MTV says is also a close personal friend of Lil Wayne, said after a private party, the entourage would move to a strip club called King of Diamonds.
"I was never scared, worried nor bothered by the situation" behind bars, Lil Wayne said Tuesday through Weezythanxyou.com, a website he set up to give fans a glimpse of his life in jail.

Is Monogamy Redundant?

As "Cuffing Season" approaches, it is a fact that the number of couples will rise by the boatload. Its cold and we as humans need warmth. While totally understandable there still is a question I pose to my good people out there..... Will this be a monogamous winter for you? Even a better question is will it be a monogamous relationship for your significant other?  While most scoff at the idea of ever being cheated on, let's be real it happens to the best of us. Especially in this day and age that its not just free love...its a total freak off that with each weekend brings a new hookup and scandal . So I pose the question is Monogamy Redundant ... For couples is the time where you should be most worried? Heightened state of panic maybe? For my single people  if its a winter "hook up" should we keep it 100 and leave ourselves open to more options or should we keep our promiscuity in hibernation to give love a chance as the temperature chills and that bed becomes a tad bit more empty.

It is all about focus. If you are doing something right now as we speak (with the exception of somethings) and it is not a part of or a step you have to take to get to your #IDEAS then what are you doing it for. A kid in high school that wants to play division one college BASKETBALL is not going to go out and pratice his WideReciever Routes on the daily basis. That is the best example I can come up with but you guys all know what I am trying to say. If you want to be a doctor, take the steps to be a doctor, if you want to be a rapper, take the steps to be a rapper. There is a road to the places we all want to go, the key is staying on that road, only then will you make it to your destination.

  Even though this song was made years ago, when I believe I was a Sophmore in high school, I can still relate to it's words today. Traditionally, men and women have been subjected to different "rules" regarding sexual behavior. Women have been objectified as "whores" for engaging in sexual activity outside of marriage, where in men, their activity and behavior is expected and rewarded. Many women, are faced with the "Kat Stacks" persona based on their sexual activity as promiscuous or easy. In our community (the UC community), athletes and Fraternity brothers for example tend to be the groups that get and share multiple women. They talk about the women they have been with in negative ways, saying how the women are whores, sluts, etc... I don't understand how women are portrayed in negative ways by men when they are in fact doing the same thing.

   People are always so quick to jump to the double standards of men and women, but we never think about the double standards between women. [scenario] Say a man had a girlfriend and he was to cheat. His girlfriend is the first to get mad at the other women, but give her boyfriend rewards such as staying with him and even giving him sex.

How Do we Approach the Opposite Sex?

OK picture this ladies…you just finished getting sexy and you are stepping out for the night with your girls.  You cannot even walk through the club doors before some random guy grabs your arm speaking some nonsense.  And then when you turn him down he got the nerve to call you out your name?!  Now any man who touches you later that night is about to get their head ripped off.  Why don’t men know how to approach and talk to women anymore?  It’s fairly easy…hmm be a gentleman.  We women have to have tough skin at first to get past the no good morons, but trust inside we are still sweet.  It seems now a day that women have to be the forward ones to catch the good men.  The men that have guts to approach are some that are not worth the time. Good men please do not give up! Here are some suggestions for the men that need SERIOUS gentleman skills; don’t scream at the female to get her attention, don’t pop up behind her when she’s dancing, or grab her arm/hand.  Now I’m just one woman and other women might agree or disagree.  My question for you ladies is: What should a man do and not do to get a good vibe from you out on the town?   My question for the men is: What has worked and has not worked to get a females attention?

A Melting Pot?

 I am going to fill you guys into this conversation I had one day with a black coworker.  She is 20 years old and has a little girl…who is about 2 years old.  We happen to start talking about dating outside our race.  I am a black woman and do not discriminate on what race approaches me and strikes my interests.  On the other hand my coworker said she could NEVER date outside her race because of her daughter.  She believes that if she has biracial children her daughter now would be jealous of them.  I really laughed at this and could not understand how she found that logical!  But she says she has experienced siblings abusing each other because one has “good” hair, different color eyes, or is light skin.  I believe this all has to do with the upbringing and self esteem of the children.  We debated for a while on this topic and came to no understanding.  We even had a random white man chime in saying that he has four biracial children and not wish any difference.  This helped my case in saying that sooner or later people will be ONE big mixture….no one will be just one race.  My question for you is: how do you feel about dating outside your race? Do you agree with my coworker?  Do you see the world soon as a giant melting pot?

Lebrons a Bug-Eyed NIGGER Tweet

Yesterday on his Twitter feed, LeBron James re-tweeted criticism from some, let's call them "disgruntled," fans. He then proclaimed the day as Hater Day, telling the twitterverse that the haters need their two minutes of fame too. The tweets were your typical everyday re-hashed LeBron affronts. People calling him a "fraud" or a "bitch" and generally hoping he sticks his head under a car for some reason. It was a like a fun tweetup party! Then LeBron re-tweeted a rather despicable racially charged message from someone. Nothing kills a party like some dickbrained racist jackass.

Last month, James told CNN that race has played a factor over all the backlash he's received after his ill-advised The Decision aired on ESPN. But, pretty much like everything else LeBron says or does nowadays, those comments were met with even more backlash. Charles Barkley said LeBron's race comments were "stupid." The former NBA All-Star described it like watching a movie. "Just when you think it couldn't get any stupider, it gets more stupid," Barkley said, probably right before he gambled and lost another $40000 in a Vegas casino.

Some people might say that LeBron brought this upon himself with his "Haters Day" tweet. But we're guessing this is not the first time he's received a twitter message like this one.

This is the second time in two months a high-profile local athlete has had to deal with a racially charged message from a random troglodytic fan. Last month UM quarterback Jacory Harris received a racist Twitter message from someone after the Canes lost to Ohio State.

The Internet is a lovely place. You can use it for stock quotes and porn. You can also use it to anonymously insult other people with vile racial slurs. Hooray, Internet! For their part, Twitter responded immediately and shut down the offender's account. A better response would have been for them to have shoved a railroad spike dipped in syphilis up that guy's rectal cavity. That's just one suggestion.
